8/10/2023 0 Comments Ronin katana dojo pro tanto reviewOver all I love this tanto and I am convinced that it is the best tanto you can possibly buy for less than $100 and I doubt that anyone will be proving me wrong. With no skill I think is actually easier to cut through a water bottle with this then a katana because it’s easier to aim. 65 is not bad, but it clearly has an impact on the end product’s quality. Cutting performance is unbelievable, my first cut with it went right through the water bottle effortlessly and after cutting ten water bottles and a gallon jug it hasn’t failed to cut through anything. Nice review I’ve been looking around for a wakizashi to complement my latest katana so I appreciate this tanto review as this is the perfect example of the classic, you get what you pay for. The blade has the sharpest tip of any knife I have ever owned and the overall blade is sharped well with niku. Saya 2/5: honestly the saya is terrible, it looks nice but it barely even holds the tanto in and everything time you pull out the tanto it is covered with wood chips which I know will stop happening eventually but for me still hasn’t.īlade and cutting performance 6/5: I know that a $70 ronin tanto won’t be quite as good at cutting as a $300 ronin dojo pro katana but it’s still insanely good at cutting. The black on black ray skin and itto wrap looks really nice. Now having it for few weeks here is what I like and dislike about it.įittings 4/5: for the most part the fittings are decent the iron fittings with the bat theme l really like, the tsuba is decent but the itto wrap is not nearly tight enough. When I saw this tanto on this website I knew this was the one I was looking for. The iron fittings are excellent, and I quite like the tapered tsuka. Most good tantos are well over $100 and the ones that are under $100 are usually cheaply made with 1045 steel and just look terrible. Conclusion and Insights: For under 300 this is an excellent and honest blade. I spent way too much much time looking for a decent tanto under $100. 1060 carbon steel Ronin Katana Dojo Pro Tanto marked down to half price Two high quality stainless steel knives brought to you by the company behind Ryujin Swords Dragon King Tatsumaki Katana 749.99 927.95 IN STOCK & ON SPECIAL Differentially Hardened T10 Tool Steel Blade with Prominent, Real Hamon.
